Pharmaceutical Interventions (PIs)
- Medical-based or pharmaceutical-based interventions for the treatment and prevention of influenza are a key component of mitigating the impact of an influenza outbreak. The use of pharmaceutical interventions is more common in developed countries and in institutions such as hospitals.
- Used in partnership with non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPI) such as good respiratory etiquette, isolation and home care of the sick, social distancing, and personal hygiene will reduce the opportunity to become sick with the virus.
- This page contains training guides and communication materials for stakeholders, health care workers, pregnant women and people with pre-existing health conditions.
